The Marketing and Student Recruitment (MASR) team are headed by Lindsey Russell and based within the Communications and External Relations section. MASR are responsible for the University’s centralised marketing and all recruitment activity.

Marketing team

The marketing team are responsible for student recruitment marketing campaigns. We work on departmental marketing campaigns (e.g. an email from a department), alongside wider corporate campaigns (eg. the prospectus and membership packs).

Student Recruitment team

We take a lead on all recruitment activity across the UK and overseas, specifically Europe and Americas and we work with our regional offices in other areas. This includes school fairs and talks, education fairs, working with partner universities, agents and other stakeholders.

Our Student Recruitment Officers and International Officers are responsible for activity in their own set areas/countries. The team also manage key recruitment events, including Opens Days and Offer Holder Days and virtual events.

  • expertise of UK regions and international markets
    • working with schools – as part of the Schools Membership Scheme and outside of this

Regional International Offices

The Regional International Offices are responsible for the University’s International Recruitment, Alumni Engagement and Partnerships Network; specifically in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, India, China and South East Asia.

The marketing intelligence team are responsible for monitoring the external environment which we operate in. We look at trends on national and international levels to find opportunities for the University.

How we can help

Our team are responsible for:

  • competitor bench-marking
  • surveying focus groups
  • enquiry/applicant/enrolment profiling
  • competitive positioning plans
  • management and delivery of research that underpins new course proposals
  • Customer Relationship Management system – processing enquiries from students and ensuring they receive the correct information which is tailored to their unique needs and interests. Web Editing and Digital Media

Our team is responsible for the strategic development and management of the University's use of the website and related digital media. Our role includes the production and development of central corporate web pages, planning and editing content, and the online implementation of the University's brand.

We work closely with a team of web authors across the University to make sure our website content is of the highest quality. This includes providing staff web author guidance and a series of training courses to develop and maintain web authoring skills.
