Governance Office team

The Governance team looks after the University’s corporate governance.

  • University Council, the executive governing body with overall responsibility for the management and proper conduct of University business based on the objectives defined by the University Charter and Statutes
  • University Court, a formal body with a range of functions, including encouraging people in the local region to have an active interest in the University, be formally associated with it and be given an opportunity to comment on University affair
  • University Steering Group, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, which meets regularly during term time to agree and execute the operational strategy, and to prepare and recommend to Council the University's budget and resource allocation

University Calendar

The Governance team also produces and maintains the University Calendar, which incorporates University governance, regulations, procedures, codes of practice, fees and other relevant information.
