The University safeguards and promotes a culture that enables students to realise their full potential in a safe, healthy and inclusive environment. If you are the victim of or witness an incident you feel breaches the expected standards of behaviour you should report it.

Security on campus

Contact the Security team to report emergencies as well as non-emergencies such as out-of-hours support, first aid and lost property.

Reporting a crime

If you witness a crime or are a victim or one, report it to the police and to our Security team.

Report sexual violence, harassment and hate crime

The University has a zero tolerance approach to sexual violence, harassment and hate crime. All staff, students and visitors can report an incident anonymously or get support from an adviser.

Health and safety

Report a health and safety incident

Any health and safety incident on University premises or during the course of organised work or student activities must be reported.

Investigating health and safety incidents

Health and safety investigations are necessary to learn from incidents and so prevent a reoccurrence and for use in the event of a civil claim or HSE investigation.

It is vital that we maintain high standards of fire safety on our premises for the protection of the lives of our staff, students and other premises users.

Report a health and safety hazard on University premises via our Estate Management Helpdesk.

Health and safety concerns about work or study

If you are concerned or have questions about the health and safety of your work or study report it as soon as possible.

Report unsafe behaviour

If you are concerned about someone behaving unsafely please report it as soon as possible.
