Talk Time: Stay and Play Sessions

Two toddlers playing on the floor. There is a toy truck in blue and orange in front of them.

Supporting early communication through play and interaction.

Each session combines practical information for parents with opportunities for children to engage in play-based activities. Families will learn simple, evidence-informed strategies to support speech, language and communication development during everyday interactions, helping to build confidence in supporting their child's communication at home.

The sessions also offer opportunities to discuss your child's communication development with Speech and Language Therapists, ask questions, share experiences with other parents and receive advice and support.

Whether you are looking to encourage your child's early language skills, support their social communication, or learn new ways to promote communication through play, Talk Time provides a fun, interactive and supportive environment for both children and their families.

Who is it for?

Parents, carers and young children who would benefit from support to develop early speech, language and communication skills through play and everyday interaction.

If you feel your child could benefit from Talk Time, please complete our children’s referral form and email to healthwellbeingcare@essex.ac.uk and a member of the team will be in touch to discuss your referral.
