Much more than just a great degree

As an Essex postgraduate student, you’ll be an integral and respected part of our global community. Our students from across the UK and around the world study a wide range of taught courses, as well as developing their own research or ground-breaking project under the supportive guidance of an academic supervisor. We aspire to make our only home a better place for us all to live. At Essex we give you the freedom, knowledge and tools to become a successful professional, and we’ll continue to support you even after you’ve left us.

We have over 300 different Masters courses and research degrees as well as a comprehensive package of scholarships, bursaries and other financial support available to help you undertake a postgraduate degree with us. We’re also a member of three Doctoral Training Partnerships, which each give you the chance to receive the gold-standard of research funding and training in the UK.

We offer Masters courses which include a professional placement, giving you access to workplace training where you’ll gain in-demand skills and experience with another organisation or business. Some of our Masters degrees allow you to gain two degrees in two years, studying at both Essex and at another institution overseas. We are also offering a range of Masters courses that allow you to start in January, instead of October, which may give you more choice and flexbility to decide when you want to learn.

These are just a few of the ways we can make your time as a postgraduate at Essex both financially viable and incredibly experiential and life-changing.
