Graduation is one of the highlights of our academic year. It is a time to celebrate your hard work and achievements, and to mark the start of your next adventure. We look forward to sharing this unforgettable day with you and your guests.
Winter graduation postponed
We are very disappointed to confirm that we have had to postpone our Winter Graduation ceremonies on 12 and 13 January 2022.
We know that our graduation ceremonies are one of the highlights of the University’s academic year. They are the culmination of hard work and an important opportunity for our graduates to celebrate their achievements with their friends and family.
We are proud of all our graduates and believe strongly that they deserve an amazing Graduation event. We are also committed to keeping our community safe during the difficult circumstances of the continuing pandemic.
After considering all possible options for COVID-safe precautions, we have concluded that the circumstances created by the new Omicron variant mean it is not possible to deliver the Graduation event our graduates deserve. We have considered all possible options for the event to go ahead. Our commitment to maintaining the safety of our community all across the world is paramount. The enhanced risk assessment we have undertaken identified that we cannot proceed in a way that mitigates the risks sufficiently. We are very sorry that we have had to take this decision. We hope that by taking it now, we can provide clarity at this worrying time. We will be in touch with details about the refunding of tickets and next steps.
We are determined that this difficult decision will not stop our graduates from celebrating their achievements. We remain fully committed to inviting them to celebrate at an in-person ceremony when it is safe to do so and we are confident we can deliver the best possible event. We will confirm the revised arrangements as soon as we can.
