As you will be aware, if you were eligible for our Winter Graduation ceremonies, we had to take the difficult decision due to the circumstances created by the Omicron variant at the time, to postpone our Winter Ceremonies which were due to take place on 12 and 13 January 2022. All those that had purchased guest tickets or hired Graduation Robes, should now have received refunds, if you have not please let us know by emailing gradoff@essex.ac.uk
We know that our graduation ceremonies are one of the highlights of the University’s academic year. They are the culmination of hard work and an important opportunity for our graduates to celebrate their achievements with their friends and family.
We are proud of all our graduates and believe strongly that they deserve an amazing Graduation event. We are also committed to keeping our community safe during the difficult circumstances of the continuing pandemic.
We are determined that this difficult decision will not stop our graduates from celebrating their achievements. We remain fully committed to inviting them to celebrate at an in-person ceremony when it is safe to do so and we are confident we can deliver the best possible event. Now that we have delivered our Spring Graduation ceremonies for postponed 2020 and 2021 graduates, the rescheduling of our postponed Winter ceremonies is our top priority. We are considering all possible options to enable us to deliver these postponed Winter ceremonies in-person and as soon as possible, but at present we are unable to confirm when these are likely to take place. As soon as our plans have been confirmed, we will be in contact with all eligible Winter graduands to confirm the new dates and how to book tickets. We thank you all for your patience and understanding.
