Living well with cancer

A person in a white and pink top is standing in a kitchen, cutting a green fruit on a chopping board in front of them. Lemons and courgettes are around the board.

Our prehabilitation (prehab) service for people with cancer is a new addition to our ‘Living Well’ series of services.

Living Well with Cancer aims to support and empower you to live as fully as possible, whilst negotiating all that a new diagnosis brings.

We aim to help you get physically and mentally ready for your cancer treatment so that you can recover faster, feel more in control and maintain a better quality of life.

Prehab may include:

  • Tailored exercise programs to optimise your physical health
  • Education regarding nutrition and diet, and also lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol use and fatigue management
  • Support to help enhance your wellbeing and resilience
  • Tools to help you stay active, confident and empowered during your care journey.

Small steps before treatment can make a big difference, so contact us today at healthwellbeingcare@essex.ac.uk for more information.
