Home CommuniCafe is an online speech and language therapy service designed for children and families who have chosen elective home education.

Our aim is to empower children aged between 5 and 16, who are educated at home, to thrive through accessible, student-led speech and language therapy support. The on-line service offers flexible, engaging, and creative sessions delivered by speech and language therapy students under the supervision of a registered Speech and Language Therapist.

Whether your child needs help with speech sounds, vocabulary, understanding, expressive language, social communication, or building confidence in conversation, we are here to support their journey.

If you feel your child could benefit from Home CommuniCafe, please complete our children’s referral form and email to healthwellbeingcare@essex.ac.uk and a member of the team will be in touch to discuss your referral.

Where a high number of referrals are received, a clinical priority and waiting list system will be implemented.
