Age Well Initiative

The Age Well Initiative is a programme designed for individuals aged 65 and over who are living with mild frailty and want to stay active, connected, and informed about how to support healthy ageing.

Delivered by the Health, Wellbeing and Care Hub clinical team, with support from student healthcare staff, the programme runs for 5 weeks.

Each weekly session includes:

  • Exercise to improve strength, balance, and mobility
  • An educational talk on key ageing topics
  • A refreshment break to socialise and recharge

Topics covered during the educational talks include:

  • Physical activity and exercise
  • Falls awareness and prevention
  • Building and maintaining social connections
  • Nutrition and healthy eating
  • Keeping your brain active

To join, complete the Adult Referral Form (.docx) and email it to healthwellbeingcare@essex.ac.uk.

Our services are accessible to all. Referrals can be made either by an individual, their care giver, a social prescriber, a health, social care or education professional. Please download the form and email to our team.
