The details
Postgraduate taught
School of Philosophical Historical and Interdisciplinary Studies

These Scholarships come courtesy of a bequest from Professor Hugh Brogan, a long-time member of the Department of History at Essex who remained actively involved in the Department following his retirement in the late 1990s. The scholarship is available to help promising Masters students, in the Department of History, who are in need of financial support.

How to apply

All students who apply for entry on an MA course within the department of History to start in 2023-24 will be contacted by the department close to the start of term asking if they wish to make a case for funding, including a short personal statement. Applications will be considered and ranked by a panel at the beginning of the academic year.

Terms and conditions

Please read the full terms and conditions before applying for or accepting a scholarship or bursary. They contain important information about eligibility, if you need to complete an application form and how you'll receive your funding.
