Depression is a common mental health difficulty and the symptoms can be very disabling and make life feel like a struggle.

Symptoms of depression

  • Persistent low mood
  • Tearfulness
  • Sleep disturbance
  • Anxiety
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Feelings of hopelessness

Getting help 

If you feel that you're suffering some of these symptoms of depression it is a good idea to seek professional support.

Doctors/GPs are trained and experienced in treating and managing depression, so you should make an appointment to see your doctor/GP.
