MBA Director

James is our MBA Director, and joined the University of Essex in 2019 as a Lecturer in Management. He was previously an Associate Lecturer at the University of York and prior to that, an Officer in the Armed Forces where he held a series of appointments in the Educational and Training Services branch. He leads on all aspects of our MBA programme and enjoys teaching our candidates as well as leading the MBA team of academics and business specialists .  

Deputy MBA Director

Sonia joined EBS from the University of Pittsburgh (US) in 2022 as a Lecturer in Management focused on Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Innovation, and Quantitative Methods. Before management academia, Sonia specialised in International and EU Law. She worked as an Assistant Professor of Law in France and was an entrepreneur, founding her consultancy firm, with a portfolio of clients ranging from Governmental authorities to SMEs. These different experiences inform Sonia’s research and her approach to leading and teaching on the MBA.

MBA Senior Recruitment Officer

Darshiny is our MBA Recruitment Manager for Essex Business School. As well as meeting with prospective students from across the world at our recruitment events and answering all your MBA questions, Darshiny also leads on interviewing MBA candidates and is on hand to offer advice on the recruitment process.
