Pedestrian-only zone at Colchester Campus

For the safety and wellbeing of all members of the University, all forms of electric and manually-powered transport such as bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller-skates, unicycles, etc, are not permitted for use in the central campus area or within the University buildings. Please note that privately owned electric scooters (also known as e-scooters) are not permitted anywhere on campus, as it is illegal to ride private e-scooters on public highways which includes the University grounds (however, e-scooters that are part of a University or council-mandated rental scheme are permitted, within the terms and conditions of the rental scheme).

Riders are required to dismount at the pedestrian-only signs which can be found on all approaches to the squares.

The map below shows the dismount signs and the pedestrian only zone on central campus.
