4 Sep 2023 - 15 Mar 2024 | Life Science | Development of the STEPS project on level 6 of the Life Science building. Weekend works to be undertaken on levels 3 and 5 until November 2023. Scaffolding to be erected in the courtyard area between the Lecture Theatre Building and Life Sciences on the underpodia level at the start of the project. Noise disruption expected from erection of scaffolding and construction works. Impact from dust to be mitigated through the use of plastic-coated hoardings where appropriate |

27 Jan - 23 Feb 2024 | The Hexagon | The safety barrier surrounding The Hexagon is due to be upgraded, access along the path will be maintained throughout the project however this may be restricted at times. There may be some noise disturbances as a result of these works. |
30 Jan - 09 Feb 2024 | Computer Science and Electronic Engineering | Emergency works are taking place within the Computer Science and Electronic Engineering building to fix a leak. All of the toilets within this building have been closed with immediate effect. Alternative toilets can be found in the Psychology and STEM Buildings. Our Mechanical team are doing everything they can to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. A new water main pipe requires installation, this will involve the drinking water to the kitchens on all floors to be turned off between 9am on the 07 February and 10am on the 08 February. It is anticipated that the toilets will continue to be out of use until the 09 February. |
05 Feb - 15 March 2024 | Albert Sloman Library | Concrete repairs will be taking place on the Albert Sloman Library. This will be carried out via abseiling between 8am - 5pm. There will be some sporadic noise from breaking out the damaged areas, safety tunnels will be in place to maintain through access to the building. |
05 Feb - 16 Feb 2024 | Lecture Theatre Building | The Lecture Theatre Building lift (L7) is out of service, our onsite lift engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, however it is not anticipated to be back in service this week. |
06 Feb - 15 Feb 2024 | Passenger lifts across Colchester campus | Between the 06 and 15 February, the passenger lifts across Colchester campus are due to be inspected. This will involve each lift being out of service for a short while over this period, whilst the inspection is taking place signage will be put on to the lift advising of alternative routes. |

24 Feb 2024 | Campus wide, concentrated Under- podia | Commercial gas infrastructure survey taking place across campus, a mobile platform will be used under podia for high level inspections. |
We use an electronic system called SOTER to manage approved contractors and monitor key organisational information such as insurance and accreditations expiry dates and ensure all have benefited from the Estates induction. It also enables operatives to log on and off site.
