VI6 Technology Bursary


The details

The University is offering a technology bursary to support students who have taken part in the VI6 Project in their progression to Higher Education.

Our bursary is available to all students who complete either a one year or two year course as part of the VI6 Project.


You must meet all of the following conditions:

  • have taken part in VI6 as a year 12 or year 13 student from one of the five partner schools: Colne Community School and College, Clacton County High School, Clacton Coastal Academy, Philip Morant School and College and Thurstable School
  • register for your first year of study for a full-time undergraduate degree course at the University of Essex in 2021-22 starting in October 2021
  • for 2021-2022 entry: students must make Essex your firm choice on UCAS by 19 July 2021

Students who aren't eligible

You are not eligible for this award, even if you meet the criteria above, if you:

  • are on Higher/Degree Apprenticeship courses
  • are a student with direct entry into the second year
  • are studying online distance learning courses

How to apply

There is no application process; all students who fulfil the eligibility criteria identified above will be contacted to arrange the collection of a laptop in a covid-secure way after registration.
