Arriva Bus Pass

The Arriva bus pass is a discounted annual season ticket offered by Arriva to both students and staff for travel within the Southend area. The Arriva bus pass provides a full year's worth of unlimited bus travel in the Southend area within the zone you choose. 

How to buy the Arriva Bus Pass

1. Order your ticket online by choosing your local travel zone.

2. Sign up and create an account (you will need your bank account details).

3. Receive your tickets in the post or download the free Arriva m-ticket app and download your tickets to your phone.

Octopus Tickets - Limited Availability 

Octopus tickets for students and staff are valid for travel on most buses* run by Arriva, First, NIBS, Regal Busways and Stephensons. Weekly, four-weekly and yearly tickets can be used every day.

*Octopus tickets are valid on services run under contract to Essex County Council, but are not valid on service 500 to 599, 800, 806 to 816 or the X30.

+Off-peak day tickets are not valid before 9am on weekdays (Mondays to Fridays).

Octopus tickets are valid for travel within the Southend, Rochford and Castle Point districts. This area is bounded by the River Crouch in the north, the coast to the east and south and Sadlers Farm Roundabout and the A1245 between Rettendon turnpike and Carpenter's Arms in the west.

Buying Octopus tickets

We have limited availability on Octopus Tickets. If you would like to purchase a ticket you will need to visit the Income Office at Students Services Hub, 2nd floor, The Forum, Southend Campus, during term time only, between 10am and 4pm.

Please bring along a passport-sized photograph for the bus ID card. Tickets will not be refunded once purchased.
