Grounds team
The Grounds team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the outdoor spaces across our Colchester and Loughton campuses, including Wivenhoe Park, the historic parkland that surrounds our Colchester Campus. Working closely with the University's Sustainability team, they help create attractive, welcoming and biodiverse environments that support both people and wildlife.
Through a conservation-minded approach, the team manages campus landscapes, trees, planting schemes and natural habitats while balancing the needs of our students, staff and visitors. Maintenance is carried out to agreed specifications that reflect the listed status and heritage importance of both the Colchester and Loughton campuses, helping to protect and preserve these unique environments for future generations.
