Essex is proud to be part of the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) alliance - a partnership aiming to establish itself as the leading model of a young, student-centred, non-elitist and inclusive European University.

The student voice is key to the success of the alliance and Essex is now looking for two students to join the YUFE Student Forum to help co-create the YUFE vision.

Diversity and inclusivity are at the core of the YUFE identity and we strongly encourage students with all backgrounds and identities to apply for the Student Forum to truly foster an inclusive YUFE community.

The YUFE alliance - a partnership of ten young research-intensive European universities and four non-academic organisations - aims at bringing radical change in European higher education.

The purpose of the Student Forum is to make sure that the perspective of the students is always present in the realisation of the YUFE vision. From the outset, students have played a central role in all stages of the alliance – from proposal preparation to the implementation phase.

YUFE Student Forum representatives participate in the whole governance structure of YUFE and as a student-member you will co-develop the YUFE Student Journey and other YUFE initiatives.

The ideal candidates need good communication and organisation skills and able to dedicate at least ten hours a month to YUFE activities and be willing to engage in occasional European travel.
