Last year we saw the benefits from us slowing down, staying indoors, not commuting to work, spending more time appreciating what we have and the world around us. It is important to remember that the climate change crisis hasn’t gone away, we all need to do our bit to help our planet recover for future generations.

We have come up with some resolutions:

  • If you are using disposable face masks why not make the switch to having a couple of reusable ones you can have on rotation and all you need to do is pop them in with your washing to clean them. This is far better for the environment then using a new one every day as they are made out of a plastic material which takes a long time to biodegrade
  • Ditching single use plastic – check out our social media and TikTok page where we show you some great easy ways to reduce your use of single use plastic. Some great switches are; switch from liquid soap to a bar of soap, use reusable wrap like beeswax wrap instead of cling film, pick loose fruit and veg instead of packaged
  • Don’t fall into the trap of 'fast fashion' - did you know textile production accounts for global emissions equivalent to 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2 every year? That’s a bigger carbon footprint than all international flights and shipping combined. Make a start by resisting the January sales. Take a look at what you have in your wardrobe and make outfits out of what you have. Charity shops have some fantastic finds.
  • Make your diet more plant based – more fruit and veg in your diet will not only benefit your health but will decrease your carbon footprint. Reducing industrial farming is critical in decreasing the affect of climate change. Why not try a meat free Monday every week?
  • Walk/cycle more if you can - Driving only when you really need to means fewer cars on the road, and therefore much less air pollution from cars left running while stuck in jams.
