Essex Employability Award

Make the most of your time at university with the Essex Employability Award! Open to new and returning students, the award recognises the experience you gain alongside your studies and helps you develop the skills, confidence and connections you need for your future career.

How does it work?

The award focuses on three key areas: experience, development and reflection.

  • Experience: Get recognition for your part-time job or volunteer work. Your hours across different jobs and volunteering roles can contribute towards your award, helping you track the valuable experience you're gaining outside your course.
  • Development: Take part in careers workshops, fairs and employability events to develop your skills, explore career options and build your professional network.
  • Reflection: Consider how you've developed throughout your time at Essex, identify the skills you've gained and think about how you can apply them to your future career.

Choose a pathway that works for you

With one-term, one-year and two-year pathways available, you can choose an option that suits your course, circumstances and career goals. Whether you’re looking to maximise your professional development over the next two years, boost your employability while you earn your Master’s degree, or are spending a shorter time at Essex, there’s a pathway available to you.
