The fee bands and rates for new postgraduate research students studying in 2025-26 academic year are listed below.
Please be aware that these are the general fee bands covering the majority of courses however there are some exceptions in Health and Social Care, Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies and Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences. *In addition to the re-examination fee, you will also be liable for the appropriate registration fee for the referral period. In most cases, this will be the ‘exceptional extension to maximum period’ fee (per term). However, if you originally submitted your thesis without using the maximum three terms of ‘completion period’ available to you, you will first be registered for the remainder of your ‘completion period’ term(s) followed by the ‘exceptional extension to maximum period’ for the rest of your referral period. Details of the fees for these periods of study are outlined above.
Students returning for a second or subsequent year of study will be notified of their tuition fees for the next year of study as part of the arrangements for Registration.
For continuing postgraduate research students who started in 2017-18 or earlier, your fees will increase by 3% for each academic year of study.
For continuing postgraduate research students who started in 2018-19 or later, your fees will increase by 5% for each academic year of study.
