Laundry services on campus

There are launderettes located near to your accommodation. 

Colchester laundrette locations

• North Campus: the laundrette is located in the Hexagon (The Hex), just off Square 4
• South Campus the laundrette is located at Harwich Court
• The Meadows the laundrette is on the first floor of the pavilion
• University Quays the laundrette is located next to Hawkins 2
• The Copse the laundrette is located on the lower ground floor of The Oaks
• The Pastures laundrette is located at the base of the The Pastures block Briza, facing the reception in Saltmarsh.

The Hexagon (The Hex) and Harwich Court launderettes are both wheelchair accessible with automated doors.

Please do not leave your laundry in the laundry room unattended at anytime. The laundry rooms are used by a lot of students, and machines need to be emptied as soon as they finish to allow others to use. We are also not responsible for any loss or damage to belongings whilst using the facilities. 

Laundry costs 

The laundry costs starting from the 2025-26 academic year across all launderettes is:

• £2.95 per wash
• £2.10 per dry

Southend laundrette locations

• University Square: the laundrette is located near to the common room

Circuit Go

The machines within all of our launderettes have all been upgraded to Circuit Go! This means a new way of accessing the machines and doing your laundry. 

Circuit Go is a new payment system and app, plus there is a payment terminal now in each of the launderettes, meaning you don't need a laundry card or app to pay if you don't want to. You'll be able to pay via the app, debit/credit card, Apple/Google Pay, and via smartwatches. 

The new app (download Circuit Go from your app store) has new features, including the option to reserve a machine for 10 minutes, so you know it will be available when you get there! There is also viewing availability, getting notifications, and easier way of getting refunds.

Faults

If you are having a problem with a machine then check out Circuit's website for help. If you cannot resolve the issue yourself then you will need to contact Circuit directly to report the fault by calling 01422 820026. You will need to quote the location site reference number:
