The School of Sport Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences

The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences at the University of Essex is offering three PhD research Scholarships within specific fields of research. The areas are broadly in Computer Vision, Musculoskeletal modelling, or Computational Social and Behavioural Science, applied to the areas of Pain or Health. Your proposed topic is only indicative and will be discussed, refined and agreed with the supervisory team before the project begins.

The successful applicants will receive a full Home UK or Overseas tuition fee waiver for three years of study.

How to apply

To apply you must submit the application form (.pdf) to bl19622@essex.ac.uk as soon as possible, and at the latest by 23:59 GMT 15th November 2026. You must have applied for a PHD online to study at Essex prior to submitting your application for this scholarship to be considered.
