The earliest date you can move in to your accommodation is the date specified on your letter of allocation. General arrival dates are below but if you have requested quarantine accommodation, a different arrival date will be provided.
During the main Arrival Days of 3 and 4 October, please collect your keys between 9am and 5pm where possible, as our staff will be there to welcome you. Outside of these ours and for those arriving early to quarantine or arriving late, our Security Team will be there to welcome you.
Changes due to Covid-19
To help keep you and our staff as safe as possible, we must ask you to wear a face covering when coming to collect your keys and at all times in public areas where it is difficult to keep 2 metres apart. We also need you to collect your key and move in preferably on your own. However if you need help then you can only bring one person in with you and they also must wear a face covering and please also use the hand sanitising stations before touching anything.
Please make sure your luggage is securely packed for you to transport. There will be trollies available but our staff and student staff will not be able to assist with your luggage.
Please make sure you have your arrivals pass (which is available at the end of your e-induction) and ID ready when you collect your key.
Further information on how we are keeping you safe, can be found on our Covid-19 pages.
Quarantine Arrival Support
To help support you during your quarantine period Essex Essentials have created non-perishable food packs, which you can order now and have delivered to your room before you arrive. They also have bedding and kitchen packs you can order, to reduce the number of items you need to bring with you when travelling.
Alternatively, we would recommend that you use online shopping from a local supermarket, such as Tesco, Asda or Iceland.
