With over 300 places to eat, award-winning nightlife, a theme park, museums, sporting opportunities, and even an international airport, we think you’ll discover there’s much more besides the seaside in Southend.
Live music, theatre, comedy shows, bars, clubs, restaurants and seafront pubs all make Southend’s nightlife like no other. Whether you fancy fish and chips on the beach as the sun goes down, a few quiet drinks at the bar or showing off your best dance moves at a club – Southend has got it all.
Our Clifftown Theatre and Studios provide rehearsal space for our East 15 Acting School students within a renovated gothic-style church, and host regular public performances which range from the extraordinary to the absurd.
Studying in the centre of town means that you’re immersed in a creative space throughout your time here. We’ve got an incredible live music scene, from classical music at Concert in the Park to fresh talent at Battle of the Bands. The Focal Point Gallery in The Forum, in addition to the many other galleries dotted around town, provide plenty of reason to pick up a paintbrush or camera. And where better to be inspired than on the sunny south Essex coast? All of this, plus numerous film, book, and cultural festivals, make Southend a hotbed of creative activity.
