I heard about Essex from friends that had attended the university and had a fantastic experience there. The Department of Government is ranked top for research and teaching and has a brilliant reputation which really attracted me. I found it really easy to settle into university life; everyone was so welcoming and warm and I immediately made friends. The lecturers are very supportive and make sure you understand everything. I especially enjoy the ‘Introduction to Politics’ module and it really opened by mind and enabled to me to look at ideas with a different perspective. I’ve joined the dance club and met lots of new people and had a brilliant time getting more involved with the university. I love being at Essex, it’s been a home away from home.
