When you come to study with us, we understand that you are making a significant investment of time and money, so we want to make sure it pays off. We’re here to support your future success.

Fees

We'll assess your fee status when you apply to Essex and if you are successful in gaining an offer, your fee status will be confirmed in your offer letter. Visit our fee status page for more information. If your assessment outcome is EU or international, you will be charged international fees for your course.

Scholarships

We offer many funding opportunities to support international students, including a broad range of University of Essex scholarships and bursaries. Here's just a sample of what we offer:

University of Essex scholarships 2026-27

International Undergraduate Scholarship  £5,000 discount on your tuition fees for the first year of study in 2026-27 only Various countries (excluding the EU)
Undergraduate EU Scholarship  £5,000 discount for each year of full-time undergraduate study up to a maximum of three years of study EU countries 
International Baccalaureate Excellence
Scholarship 		 £2,000 for first year of study Students achieving 34 points or more
in the International Baccalaureate
Global Talent Masters Scholarship  £5,000 discount on tuition fee Masters students. See web page for full criteria
Masters (PGT) EU Scholarship  £5,000 discount on tuition fee. Masters students from EU
