Have your say on young people’s mental health

Are you aged 14-24? Do you have experience of mental ill health, mental health distress, loneliness or social isolation?

The University of Essex is looking for young people to join its Young Person’s Advisory Group as part of an exciting mental health research programme focused on young people and mental health.

What does the advisory group do?

The Young Person's Advisory Group will work alongside researchers to:

  • Share your experiences and ideas
  • Help shape mental health research that affects young people
  • Ensure that young people’s voices are heard and listened to

You don’t need to have previous research experience, just a willingness to share your ideas and views!

What’s in it for you?

  • A £50 voucher for each meeting that you attend and contribute to
  • A chance to be involved in a large and meaningful research programme
  • An opportunity to build your confidence, skills and experience
  • Being able to meet other young people who care about mental health and wellbeing
