Serious about physical health, mental health, and sport

The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences provides cutting-edge programmes in sport and exercise science, sports performance and coaching, physiotherapy and sports therapy.

At Essex you can study a range of courses relating to sport, health and rehabilitation. We offer undergraduate and Masters degree courses, Continuing Professional Development pathways, and postgraduate research programmes in a range of subject areas from physiotherapy to sports science.

Our three research groups explore basic science questions alongside projects with strong societal impact. The groups have received funding from a range of prestigious organisations such as the Economic and Social Research Council, International Olympic Committee, World Anti-Doping Agency, Sport England, Rugby Football Union, and British Heart Foundation.
