If you're from Latin America or the Caribbean and studying for our MA Translation, Interpreting and Subtitling or our MA Translation and Professional Practice, you could be eligible for £5,000 through our Latin American and the Caribbean Translation Scholarship. There are five scholarships available.
Our University is an Economics and Social Research Council (ESRC) Doctoral Training Centre and has 16 fully-funded studentships available across 22 doctoral pathways. There are pathways available in linguistics.
The University, along with six partner institutions, is a member of CHASE: Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England, which has been awarded £17m from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to fund PhD studentships over a five year period.
Applicants for doctoral study in Language and Linguistics at Essex can apply to CHASE for AHRC studentships through the department. Funding covers fees, maintenance and professional development opportunities during your PhD.
