Short courses

Bridging the digital skills gap

We have worked in collaboration with partners including Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) to develop short courses that support digital skills that focus on digital transformation through the use of data.

These new short courses are part of an Office for Students (OfS) funded pilot project to deliver flexible courses that expand digital skillsets in data science and analysis. The courses are designed with input from employers to ensure they deliver the key skills required within industry.

Whether you currently work in a data science field, or you are looking for a career change and would like to gain the skills required to start your career as a data scientist, one (or more!) of these courses may be just what you are looking for.

Through a combination of self-directed study and periods of supervised learning in our labs, you will gain a solid grounding in your chosen area of study. We have created them to be as accessible as possible. You do not need any experience of computer science or mathematics beyond basic numeracy.

The courses

We are currently offering the following short courses:

While these courses can be taken as stand-alone courses, they are credit-bearing which means they can contribute towards credits needed for a recognised qualification in the future.

Funding

You may be eligible for a Higher Education Short Courses Loan to cover the tuition fee for these courses.
