Data is at the heart of the digital economy.
As a result, data science and artificial intelligence are key fields of future employment, with an ever-increasing number of roles across the globe for those who have experience in these fields. Health, finance, education, these are all areas that are seeing significant growth, but are being hampered by a lack of good candidates with the right qualifications.
However for many people the experience needed to study and work in these areas is beyond their scope. Many Postgraduate degrees in data science or artificial intelligence require applicants to have backgrounds in core science areas, such as computer science, mathematics, or engineering.
Our new conversion courses are designed to help those who have previously studied the humanities or social sciences, or who have some science and data experience through degrees in life sciences or business.
Through our degrees you will gain the key skills you need to flourish in a future career. Depending on your course you will learn programming in R, the ability to design and implement novel solutions, machine learning, and statistical modelling.
We are offering the following Master of Science conversion degrees:
These courses will start in October 2021 and can be taken full time or part time. We will also be offering scholarships funded by the Office for Students for suitably qualified applicants.
Once you have been accepted on one of the above courses you will be eligible to apply for the AI and Data Science scholarship. This award of £10,000 can be used towards the cost of the course fee, or as a stipend to support you while you study.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals who are members of under-represented groups in computer science and mathematics, including applicants who are female, Black, or disabled.
We have two deadlines, depending on when you are starting your course:
