Each department has a tailored induction to welcome you to your course, meet your lecturers and classmates, and help you settle in. Find your department below to explore your full schedule.

This welcome to your department is a unique and compulsory chance to find out more about your degree, to talk with key members of staff like your personal tutor or supervisor, and to meet the friends you're going to be studying with at Essex.

For students studying a joint degree

Are you studying more than one subject? If you're studying a joint degree, you should access key support through your home Department or School. If you're not sure which is your home Department, you can find out on MyEssex.

Beyond your department

There's plenty to get involved in during Welcome Week including our Freshers Fair, Part-time Job Fair and loads more so be sure to take a look at the wider University Welcome events and Students' Union events.
