Biography

Having started my career as a teacher, I then took the move into Learning and Development. I worked for a company of Chartered Surveyors in London for 10 years. I managed the L&D team, managed the Graduate programme and delivered a variety of courses including management skills, recruitment, effective appraisals, presentation skills, surveying for non surveyors, effective writing, time management and assertiveness. I have been in the Employability and Careers team for 6 years; having started with Law and Business students I now work in the Humanities Faculty Employability team, particularly with Law and Human Rights, SPAH and History students. I enjoy working with the students to help them to better understand the options they have when they graduate and how to make good career decisions. I also work closely with the departments to find ways to encourage students to consider their futures and get involved with a variety of experiences that will help them to develop skills, confidence and an idea of what they want to do after university.
