Profile
Biography
I have worked in research and clinical rehabilitation since 1990, the year I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist (North East London Polytechnic, & London Hospital School of Physiotherapy). I completed a PhD in Neuropsychology in 1997 (University of Birmingham). I led NHS rehab services including the Oliver Zangwill Centre for Neuropsychological Rehabilitation (Ely, UK) between 2002-19. I am interested in wide range of topics and open to offering under-graduate and post-graduate supervision including: 1) patient reported outcome measures ("PROMS") 2) psychometrics, especially Rasch measurement models 3) social media in rehabilitation, 4) holistic neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, 5) assistive technology, 6) specific aspects of neuropsychology - executive functions, dyspraxia, attention impairments 76) generally, rehabilitation service evaluation I benefit from support from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and I contribute to our local NIHR infrastructure in several ways: With the ARC [ https://arc-eoe.nihr.ac.uk/ ] I am helping to improve availability of statistical analysis and methodology advice With the BRAIN MIC [https://www.brainmic.nihr.ac.uk/] I lead the neuropsychological rehabilitation theme. and my most substantive work is as Director of NIHR Research Design Service for East of England, leading a team that is here to help people apply for health and social care research funding. [https://rds-eoe.nihr.ac.uk/] I am also Past-president of The Society for Research in Rehabilitation [https://www.srr.org.uk/] and Chair of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum [https://ukabif.org.uk/]. see twitter @DrAndrewBateman for news
