Biography

David is a Trainee on the Professional Doctorate Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) programme at the University of Essex. His original degree was in Neuroscience (BSc) at King's College London (KCL) where he also gained an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). His MSc dissertation looked at different isoforms of tau that existed in models of Alzheimer's Disease. He took his passion for health and science into the healthcare industry where he worked in communications and business development as a team lead for a number of years. Wanting to pursue clinical training, he completed an MSc in Psychology before working as an NHS Assistant Psychologist in the community for a couple of years with individuals with Frist Episode Psychosis (FEP) or Serious Mental Illness (SMI). He began his training on the DClinPsy in 2021. David has a personal interest in the links between interoception and psychological wellbeing.
