I decided to complete my LLM at Essex because I wanted to venture into the legal field and it was recommended by a number of human rights lawyers as one of the best law schools in the country. Coming from a very theoretical background, during my studies I was challenged by many of my professors to look at issues within the law from a different perspective. Having experienced armed conflict during my young years, learning about the different customs and laws of armed conflict clarified many questions and predispositions I had about concerning wars. Since graduating from Essex, I completed a 6-month internship with Human Rights Watch in their Beirut office. Currently I am working at Action Against Hunger (Syria Mission) as their Country Reporting Officer.
