Healthy development of every child begins with the parent-infant relationship.

At the Essex Babylab, we are keen to better understand how the prenatal and postnatal environment influences baby’s development and parent-infant bonding.

We have projects around this topic as well as a multidisciplinary group developed to make baby science more accessible to parents. Thanks to an established collaboration with Babybrains, we aim to empower parents in their journey to parenthood.

We also collaborate with The Synapse Centre for Neurodevelopment at the UK National Health Service (NHS) East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) to research and improve knowledge in neurodevelopment. The ultimate goal is to provide support and evidence-based interventions to babies and children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
