The Africa Special Interest Group (ASIG) brings together scholars and students across all departments of the university of Essex with a broad interest in Africa.

The ASIG is the hub for interdisciplinary studies focusing on Africa, and contributes to joint research activities, education, as well as student and cultural events on Africa.

The group holds a social meeting every Tuesday during term time (9:30 to 10:00 in the Government Common Room, 5b.303), and organises other events across campus. All staff and students are welcome to register for the ASIG social events.

ASIG maintains a mailing list. If you want to be added to the mailing list, attend the social event, or for any other inquiry, please email africa-sig@essex.ac.uk.
