There is nothing we love more than inviting students and their families/guests to our Open Days. They are a fun event where the campus is buzzing, and you get valuable insight in to what life is like at Essex and Essex Business School.

So, here is everything you need to know about visiting us at a University of Essex Open Day.

What to expect

As a guest of the Open Day, you will be given the chance to attend a host of general talks about everything you need to know about studying at university, including accommodation, student finance and more. You’ll be invited to roam around our sparkling sports arena which will have a stand from every single department at the university so that you can chat to staff and academics and no doubt get a few sought-after Essex freebies!

Hear from our specialist academics and get a taste of your future course

From our perspective at Essex Business School, not only will you get the opportunity to chat with academics from each of our main UG subject areas, you will get to experience what it means to be an Essex Business School student. You will get to talk to academics from: 

• Accounting
• Finance and Banking
• Business Management
• Marketing

For each subject area, we will be holding several Essex Business School taster sessions to give you a taste of what could be your future course – these are subject-specific and will be hosted by our expert academics. This will give you a more detailed insight into the course you’re interested in and will also give you a glimpse into the subject matter.

Some of the expert academics you will get the chance to meet on our June Open Day includes Management and Marketing lecturer, Dr Erik Jakobi, Finance and Banking lecturer, Dr Thanos Verousis and Accounting professor, Dr Azimjon Kuvandikov. They’ll be there to answer any questions you might have about the content of our courses and inspire you with their research areas.

Meet your future community

You’ll also have the opportunity to chat with current students from Essex Business School.  They are living the university dream at the moment, and this is your chance to get as much information and top tips from them about what it’s like to study at Essex Business School as possible! You can ask them questions from what it’s like to live on campus, what’s the best accommodation, to what the social life is like and much more.
