Essex Sport Welcome Week 2024

Join us at the Essex Sport Village where you'll get the chance to meet Essex Sport, Essex Rebels, Active Campus and our student supporters club - The Tribe!

Plus we'll have information on the 44 sports clubs you can join and loads of freebies and discounts for you to take home with you.

We have a range of exciting fitness activities and events happening throughout Welcome Week. Have a look at our timetable to find out more!

Gym memberships

Not living here? Exclusive for Welcome, join for £21.99 per month (plus a £20 joining fee) or pay £180 for the whole year! This offer runs from 16 September to 14 October 2024, and includes unlimited access to our gym, over 100 fitness classes, and 8-day advance facility bookings through the Essex Sport App. Simply select 'Become a member' from our student memberships page, log in with your Essex email address (if you haven't got a pin already you'd need to select 'Forgotten pin' to request one).

Active campus

Our Active Campus programme is an exciting and diverse way to get involved with sport on campus. Whether you want to find a fun way to stay active, learn another skill or fancy something a little more competitive, we have it covered!

Fitness classes

Join us over Welcome Week and come along to our FREE fitness classes. This is a great way to meet new people and get started with your Essex Sport gym membership. We hope to see you there! Book your class through the app.

Essex Rebels

The University of Essex is home to the Essex Rebels, a professional Basketball and Volleyball club that brings exciting entertainment to campus life. The Essex Rebels Basketball and Volleyball teams are an exciting part of the University of Essex life and offer amazing entertainment on the weekends and will kickstart their season with the Essex Rebels Basketball Season Opener on 5 October from 4pm - 8:30pm at the Essex Sport Arena.

First, rally behind our Women's team as they face off against Ipswich, then cheer on our Men's NBL1 team as they take on Milton Keynes Breakers. It's double the action, double the excitement!
