Enterprise Project Fund

The Enterprise Project Fund is an internal funding scheme for our academic staff. It provides up to £5000 of funding to assess and develop the potential for your research to be applied outside the academy.

What it funds

Activities and projects which will help you access external funding or help the commercial development of your research

Example projects

  • Assessing the market for your research as a product or service
  • Testing the viability of your idea in practice
  • Finding a partner organisation or enterprise match for your expertise

Example activities

  • Market research
  • Development of contacts, networks or ‘leads’ via meetings, workshops and demonstrations
  • Development of a CPD or summer school programme
  • Attendance at industry-specific events

It doesn’t fund

  • Buying out academic teaching time
  • Research activities/technical development
  • Attendance at academic events

How much funding is available?

Up to £5,000 per project

Who decides whether my application will be funded?

A panel within the Research and Enterprise Office will assess each application on merit, and will support the delivery of successful applications. Selection criteria will include core capability, deliverability/achievability, strategic fit and sustainability.
