The secrets of start-up success, business and how to grow fledgling firms will be revealed at an exciting breakfast briefing.

Top speakers from tech venture capitalist firms and University of Essex spinouts will speak at the hotly anticipated free conference.

A panel of disruptors and seasoned boardroom experts will share their secrets at the British Business Bank breakfast briefing series on Equity for Growth - the Role of VC Capital.

Organised by our Angels@Essex programme – which matches promising firms with influential investors – the event will allow founders to pick the brains of the expert panel.

The platform has raised £21m for 38 innovators across the globe since launching in 2020.

Taking place on 9 November at the Innovation Centre on the Colchester Campus the talk will be both live and virtual, with refreshments on offer.

This will be followed by a private pitch event, which will see five firms bid for cash at an event for BritAsiaTV.

Companies offering food waste solutions, kerbside electric car charging, DNA testing, space optimisation solutions and legal recording tech will all be looking to impress investors.

Each will have seven minutes to bid for a slice of £2.5m in the seven-minute crunch meeting.

Business Support Manager, John Stenhouse, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Essex founders to meet real investors in a Dragons Den style event in front of cameras, with the extra potential to reach a global audience soon afterwards.

“Only made possible by the University of Essex, Angels@Essex unique equity investment platform, the only free UK platform.”

Each will have seven minutes to pitch plus question time and the show will be aired on Freeview and Sky later.
