The National Student Survey shows the University of Essex ranks in the top 40 for overall student satisfaction*, with five subjects in the top 10 nationally.
Through the survey, students are encouraged to reflect on their student experience. The University saw improvements in all of the seven key areas of the survey: teaching, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, learning community and student voice.
Our students ranked us 31st nationally for the quality of our learning resources and 34th for organisation and management.
The Students’ Union at Essex was also ranked 7th for effectively representing students’ academic interests.
Our determination to make a difference in society means we’re in the global top 100 of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which ranked more than 1,400 universities around the world. We're also 25th for international outlook in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022.
We're committed to placing world-class research at the centre of the educational experience. We're in the UK top 10 for research quality in four subjects (Grade Point Average, REF2021) and in the UK top 10 for research power in five subjects (Times Higher Education 2022)..
