Clearing 2021

Why Essex?

We are delighted that you're considering studying with us. With students from over 140 different countries, Essex is the world in one place.
Dmitry from Russia
I came to this country when I was 16 years old and everything was so new to me. The Russia educational system is so different to here. In the UK you have a lot more freedom surrounding what you want to study.

Essex has definitely lived up to my expectations. I came to Essex and it was a completely clean sheet. I’ve been able to write my story whilst I’ve been here; I’ve developed as a person and taken part in so many different activities, student union societies and sports. It was about finding myself and who I am.
I am so grateful to Essex, for all the opportunities that I have been given. I really feel like I have evolved as a person.
What attracted me to Essex was the academic programme and the fact that it is a campus based university. Now I live on campus in William Morris Tower and I like it there. Although it is a different experience from when I lived in Oxford for two years with a host family, it has proven equally enjoyable. My advice to any new student would be to take as many subjects as possible and to join some students’ societies.
