Dr Aliko Amhed, Regional Director of Public Health for the East of England region, and Dr Gafar Alawode, Program Director at Development Governance International (DGI) Consult will discuss success in health care from the UK to Nigeria.

Join us for the first seminar of the Health Inequalities and Health Systems research group. At Essex, we believe good health, social care and wellbeing for all is achievable. Our research addresses the multiple root causes of ill-health and access to care by adopting a collaborative, interdisciplinary and global approach. Understanding societies, policies and institutions, as well as the effects of global inequalities that determine health, wellbeing and access to services, coupled with the application of scientific, medical, and practice-based advances is at the heart of our commitment to good public health and wellbeing for all.

In this first seminar:

  • Dr Gafar Alawode will discuss: Transforming a complex Health System: Lessons learnt from Nigeria
  • Dr Aliko Ahmed will discuss: Delivering Health Mission in England – critical success factors

There will be plenty of time for discussions on health policy and health systems, the role of evidence and the interplay of political actors in public health.

This event will be held at EBS.2.1, and online.

If you wish to attend please register on Eventbrite.
