Inaugural Essex Ph.D. Conference in Applied Economics

FAQs

Is the event going to be online?

The 2nd Essex PhD conference in Applied Economics is scheduled to be held in person at the University of Essex Colchester campus. With the lifting of pandemic restrictions after three years, we are excited to return to in-person events, and the opportunities they present for students to engage and interact with others about their work and ideas!

Can I be listed as an author on multiple submissions?

Only one submission is allowed per applicant, and it expected that they shall be the one presenting the paper. You may however be listed as a co-author in other submissions provided a) it is not the same paper and b) someone else shall be presenting.

Please note that the same paper may not be submitted twice by different co-authors. If this happens, only the earliest submission will be considered for evaluation by the scientific review committee.

Is the event going to be recorded?

No, conference proceedings shall not be recorded. Photographs will be made available via official social media accounts by the organisers; attendees are also encouraged to take photographs themselves and share them online (tag us if you can!).

Will conference attendees be provided with travel grants?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide travel grants for the conference, and all travel expenses will have to be borne by attendees themselves.

Will conference attendees be provided with accommodation?

Accommodation will not be provided by the conference organisers or the University of Essex, and attendees will have to make their own arrangements for housing for the duration of the conference.
