Come and join us for a morning of science-based information, empowering tips, peer support, and free coffee/tea!

Essex Babylab invites parents with babies, parents-to-be, and anyone interested in baby development to monthly Coffee Mornings where we share research insights and practical tips to facilitate positive baby development.

Many parents often feel that they need to read parenting textbooks and follow specific rules to be good parents. We want to help them recognise that they have all it takes to be the real experts of their own baby.

By sharing science-based information and up-to-date research discoveries, we aim to show that there's no clear 'manual' to follow during your journey into parenthood.

Each month, our Coffee Mornings will feature a specific theme. This month, we are teaming up with Wivenhoe Park Day Nursery to host our monthly coffee morning, as well as Dr Caspar Addyman from Goldsmiths InfantLab.

This event will focus on play and laughter, and how babies develop and learn through these. Our guest speaker Dr Caspar Addyman (Goldsmiths, University of London), the author of The Laughing Baby, will present a virtual talk on all the amazing things babies achieve in their first two years and why they have so much fun doing it. There will also be tours by the nursery practitioners of the brand-new baby room expansion at Wivenhoe Park Day Nursery.

Not been to an in-person event with your baby? Don’t worry, a lot of people are in the same boat. We have set up a supervised play area, and we do not expect babies to be quiet throughout the event.

Admission is free, and light refreshments will be provided. No registration is needed - just turn up at 10am! More info can be found on the Facebook event page.
