Testing for COVID-19 can reduce the reproduction number of the disease, reduce the total number of infections over the course of the epidemic and minimise the need for herd immunity.

In new research, Dr Yikai Wang uses a classic epidemic model to show how testing identifies infected individuals and reduces the number of people they come into contact with.

Join us as we discuss how this in turn reduces the reproduction number of the infection and ultimately the overall number of infections.

This live webinar will be hosted by Dr Yikai Wang from the Department of Economics. The event will run from 12:30pm until 1:30pm on Wednesday 1 July via Zoom.
