Join us for a enlightening evening and discover how children and adults are able to learn new language, a complex and fascinating process which allows us to expand our worlds as we connect and communicate with others.
In this evening class, you will find out what research has shown about language learning at different times in our lives. Karen Roehr-Brackin and Monika Schmid from the Centre for Research in Language Development throughout the Lifespan (LaDeLi) will explain in an accessible and interactive way what we know about how children and adults learn new languages. You will hear about what factors and skills come into play, and you will be able to put into practice what you have learned.
Register your place to take part and try for yourself what it might be like to learn a new language. The class will run from 6pm - 8.30pm on Thursday 16 January at Essex Business School. The event is open to all and does not assume any background knowledge on languages or language learning. Tickets are £8 and £5 concessions for students and over 65's.
